July 2008 - Dwyer featured composer at the Music Nova Festival (Brazil)

Benjamin Dwyer was one of the featured composers at the prestigious Music Nova Festival 2008 (Sao Paulo, Brazil). Dwyer performed his Concerto No. 1 for Guitar and Strings twice with the Santos Symphony Orchestra at the Sao Paulo National Concert Hall with Emiliano Patarra conducting. Ireland's Syrius Piano Trio also featured at Musica Nova performing Dwyer's Piano Trio I, Piano Trio II, Movimientos I-IV (violin and piano) and other works by Irish composers John Buckley, Raymond Deane and Greg Caffrey. Dwyer also gave a composition masterclass at the festival. The participation of Dwyer and the Syrius Trio was generously sponsored by Culture Ireland and was the first time an Irish composer featured in the prestigious festival.
